Calvary Chapel and Israel

Over the years Calvary Chapel has had uncritical support for Israel. This is based on the Dispensational notion that God promised the land to Israel permanently. That means that the other peoples who are in the land need to be out or dead. But do the land promises really go to the natural descendents of Jacob?

The Land Promises
One of the commentators on the http://phoenixpreacher.com site wrote this about the land promises to Israel.
First, The land is God’s he has only loaned it to Israel.
23 ‘The land, moreover, shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are but aliens and sojourners with Me.(Le 25:23)
Second God repeatedly told Israel that their ‘custody’ of the land was based on covenantal faithfulness. Deut. 29:22-29
Third, God gave all the land to the people and he kept his land promise contrary to dispensational teaching. Joshua 23:41-4543 So the Lord gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they possessed it and lived in it.
44 And the Lord gave them rest on every side, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers, and no one of all their enemies stood before them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hand.
45 Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass
Fourth, The OT is shadows and the Land is a shadow… fulfilled in the Spirit in the OT… Land is called ‘inheritance’ in Torah. In the NT the inheritance is the Spirit… the firstfruits of our inheritance
Fifth, and this is where we go to war. Israel is the covenantal Name of Jacob. It is his faith name. The problem with your Jews in the land is that they are apostates not covenant keepers. You and I are the covenantal people of God.
YOU WOULD NOT ADDRESS MY QUESTION ABOUT THE BRANCH. Dispensationalist never really understand Israel. Rather than go through a lesson I refer you to the Eschatology thread where the dispensationalist were thrashed.

So I will say it again the Land belongs to God… The Earth is the Lords… And Abraham had enough sense not to be seduced by the land he saw… for he was looking for a city with foundations whose builder and maker is God. NOT HEAVEN People… the kingdom in the Spirit.. Hebrews 12:22ff
